Mike Merwin brings decades of experience and knowledge to Grupo Sosa Insurance, where he serves as the Agency’s senior commercial lines officer. A former underwriting manager at C.N.A. Insurance, Mike founded the insurance agency, Merwin & Paolazzi Insurance and served as its president for more than two decades.

He holds some of the insurance industry’s most prestigious professional designations: Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC) Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS). Michael received his B.A. in Economics from Montclair State College in 1976 and went on to receive his master’s degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson College in 1980.

With over 30 years of insurance experience working on both the insurance company and agency side of the profession, Mike is trusted by his clients for his expertise and deep understanding of coverage and policy forms. Mike also is a former partner and Director of ANE (Agency Network Exchange) as well as a former Director for PIANJ (Professional Insurance Agents of NJ).
